Childhood Friends

Kari and I met at the park today for a play date. Her daughter Kole is 3 months younger than Roman. These two have been around each other since birth but Roman usually clings on to Kole’s older sister Bailey who’s 11. What can I say…he likes the older ladies. 🙂 Today was different though, it was just Roman and Kole. They did wonderful together too. They generally hung around each other and had little conversations about who was going to go down the slide first or who was touching who…haha!

I’m curious to see if these two will hang out in the future. To this day I am still very close to a couple of guy friends that I grew up with, and there are probably pictures just like this one floating around of us. 🙂

I love watching my son interact with other children. Knowing that he’s bonding and making new friends is very rewarding to watch. And I think social interaction is more important than ever. With all the technology available, kids are losing (or being raised without) the value of personal interaction with others. And it shows!
(now to facebook. i’m gonna be a double poster today) 🙂

You are so right Jake. I already think about what rules we are going to enforce when it comes to video games and phones when he gets to that age. I want to make sure that he has the ability to make life long friends…and it starts now!
